Course Description

• Sophomore Research is a two-term course to prepare students conducting their multi-year independent research projects. Students will gain an overview of research intent and design, methodology, and data analysis by commonly used statistical methods. Students will practice their critical thinking and essay-writing skills by entering major STEM contests and symposiums. The course will develop each student's ability to identify areas of interest, formulate a research question, and connect with potential mentors to assist their projects. Students enrolled in this course should expect a significant amount of independent work done outside of class time.
